Rincon Rotary saving up for a rainy day in Cat Foothills.

Rincon Rotary saving up for a rainy day in Cat Foothills.

It doesn't rain very often here in Tucson, but when it does, students are stuck inside for recess time. So Teena Clark in the Catalina Foothills School District requested inside board games and logic puzzle books for her 5th grade students to use during rainy day recess and for free-choice time in the classroom. The Rincon Rotary celebrates our occasional rains, likes to help teachers dealing with "extreeme" conditions, and so provided her wishlist of activites.

The Rincon Rotary's support is part of its Rotary LOCAL program, whose mission is to help improve the local community through educational outreach. Rotary LOCAL can provide manpower, resources from local business partners, or in some cases, direct financial support to teachers who apply for assistance. Rotary LOCAL is funded in part by our annual Taste of Chocolate event, a great way to sample local sweets and help teachers at the same time.
